Keep Pressing On

We are extremely grateful for the ministry that we were able to take part in with so many of you this summer. For all the students who attended Super Summer, 360 Camp, Camp Copass, and Summerfest, thank you for an awesome summer. We want to encourage you to keep walking with our Lord. Approach scripture in obedience. It's tempting to open your bibles, read, and then decide whether or not you like it or want to apply the Word to your life. Instead, chose yes to Jesus' words before you even read them. That is the call.

Top 5 Things: 2010 Summer Camps

1) Getting the opportunity to see God work in the lives of students and leaders.

2) Jordan thinking that he had discovered something new and unique . . . Toms Shoes.

3) California weather. 70 degrees, low humidity, gentle breeze . . .

4) Killing a massive black widow outside our cabin in California. Jordan stunned it with a rock, Rachel flipped it, and I killed it. Teamwork at it’s best.

5) Playing Frisbee and Dodgeball in the rain with the students from East Bayou Baptist. Good times!

Bottom 5 Things: 2010 Summer Camps

1) Camp food . . . or as I like to call it “1000 ways to mold the same bland fried food into varying shapes and call it something new”. Chicken Fried Rhombus anyone?

2) Humidity.

3) Rachel getting bit in the eye by an unidentified bug. Her eye/face subsequently swelled, and her lymph nodes enlarged to the size of a golf ball. Fortunately, we went to an urgent care clinic in which the doctor spent more time talking college football with Brad than looking at Rachel’s eye.

4) Brad and Rachel locking themselves out of their room at 4 out of 5 camps.

5) 7:00 am breakfasts.

SUMMER ADVENTURE BEGINS

The past few weeks have been long and tiresome but the thought of summer has pushed Jordan and I through.  We are so incredibly blessed to spend our summers sharing God’s word with others.  Every camp experience is so unique that it’s difficult to even anticipate what is in store for us.  The one thing I know for sure is that it won’t all go down the way we planned it but regardless of the circumstances God will be in control.

If we could ask one thing of you, as our friends, family, and random website onlookers, it would be for you to pray.  Pray that God would move in the hearts of students this summer.  Pray that the youth ministers and camp directors would be wise in their planning and filled with the Holy Spirit.  Pray that the camp pastors would speak truth and the worship leaders would humbly lead students the throne of God with praises to Him.  Finally, pray for us that we would be humble servants of God.  Pray that we would be in tune to His will and that our words and actions on and off stage would be pleasing to Him and lead others to the Lord.

Thanks, and we’ll update you soon on the progress of this summer.
